Chapter 13 Part 3 - Since I was reborn as Saito Yoshitatsu, I'm aiming to hand over the territory to Oda Nobunaga and live longer!
1536 (Tenbun era, year 5)
TL: Yuina One day, the Imperial Court's envoy visited Yorinari and appointed him as Governor of Mino Province. At the same time, he was privately appointed as Mino's Shugo by the bakufu, so he became the ruler of Mino Province in both name and fact.
On the next day, the messenger of Rokkaku Sadayori visited the shrine with a congratulatory gift, and on that day, peace was concluded. By the way, this messenger crossed over Fuwa Barrier three days ago.
On the next day, the Rokkaku army began to withdraw, and he was given a daughter of Rokkaku Sadayori as his legal wife. This was a fixed game. [1] To express all that happened until now, it is in a state of "If you hit it hard, the rest will follow." [2], including the dispatch of troops.
In no time, a series of arrangements were made, and a few days later, local lords who had been waiting for us were gathered and held a celebration.
Why am I supposed to be involved?
"The two of us took over Saito's name and gained the title of Shugodai. What can you do even if you don't want to show your face here?"
Well, you're right, Father. But my heart isn't ready yet. Even in my previous life, I couldn't get to the position of Medical Director by the time I died.
The first thing Mino's new appointed Shugo Sakyo no daibu Toki Yorinari-sama did was the appointment of my father as Shugodai. At the same time, my family name changed to Saito following my father's.
"From now on, you'll be called Sakon dayu Toshimasa. Sakon dayu Saito Toshimasa. Remember that."
"As for you, it'll be Saito Shinkuro Toshinori from today on. Do your best for me, and for your father."
In other words, I was called Saito Shinkuro Toshinori, and my father, Sakon dayu Saito Toshimasa. It's the final countdown until the birth of Dosan Saito.
When I thought about it, my close friends at the evening banquet mostly called me Toyotamaru or Young Master after they had sake. I'm still in a child's body, so it's fine. I can't do anything about it.
[1] The word 'Deki-race' (出来レース) in Japanease is used to describe a contest in which the victor is practically known beforehand (e.g. due to unfair conditions or an obvious difference in strength)
[2] "If you hit it hard, the rest will follow." (強く当たって後は流れで) An expression used in the sense that only the initial action is discussed and decided, the subsequent development should flow according to the situation. (I didn't find and English equivalent, so I did my best. If you know how to improve it, please write it in the comments.)
