Chapter 1 Part 1 - Since I was reborn as Saito Yoshitatsu, I'm aiming to hand over the territory to Oda Nobunaga and live longer!
Chapter 1: The Death That Began It All
The world vanished before my eyes.
Anyone who has ever experienced vertigo would understand—the way vision blurs, colors remaining but losing all shape.
(Ah… this is bad.)
I couldn’t say it aloud. Instead, I felt something faintly cool against my cheek. Then came a dull thud, and I realized—almost distantly—that I must have collapsed.
No voice came from my mouth. My vision refused to stabilize. Even as my mind told me I had to call out for help, a doctor’s instinct whispered that it was already too late.
There had been no one in the staff parking lot. Even if I had managed to cry out, there would have been no one nearby to physically save me.
Still, I tried to cling to the faintest thread of hope.
“…Ah…”
At the moment of death, it wasn’t words, nor even a voice—just a meaningless sound.
Thus ended the utterly unremarkable life of Tokito Kosuke, age 37—a physician who had just finished three sleepless nights of on-call duty, covering for a colleague bedridden with acute back pain.[1]
A death without salvation.
